Safely prepare your existing gas appliance for removal prior to the delivery of a new unit. Our professional installer will shut off and disconnect the gas supply, properly cap the gas line, and perform a leak check to ensure everything is secure. Electrical connections will also be disconnected where applicable.
This service is commonly required when a retailer’s delivery provider will deliver a new appliance and remove the existing one.
What’s Included
- Review of service details and site conditions with the customer before work begins
- Service performed prior to the scheduled appliance delivery date
- Inspection of existing gas and electrical connections to ensure they can be safely disconnected
- Shutting off gas supply at the existing shut‑off valve
- Verifying that gas is fully turned off prior to disconnection
- Disconnecting the gas line from the appliance
- Properly capping the gas line to prevent leaks
- Performing a leak check at the capped connection to confirm safe conditions
- Disconnecting electrical supply and ensuring the appliance is safely unplugged (if applicable)
- Leaving the appliance in place for removal by the delivery provider
- Final cleanup of the immediate work area

- Removal or disposal of the appliance
- Delivery or installation of new appliances
- Supply or installation of a gas shut‑off valve if one is not present
- Gas line modifications, relocation, or extensions
- Electrical upgrades or relocation of outlets
- Structural changes or access modifications

If a shut‑off valve is not present or is not operational, additional work may be required and may be subject to additional charges or a separate service. Additional charges may also apply where site conditions prevent safe disconnection. All work is subject to site conditions, safety requirements, and applicable gas regulations, and service may be declined if conditions are deemed unsafe or non‑compliant.
